Therapists and coaches discuss practical ways to inspire HOPE
Toronto – 30 August 2011 – On Saturday, September 17, at the HOPE Symposium, practitioners trained in NLP (neurolinguistic programming) will offer symposium participants their views on how to integrate truth and hope while healing minds and bodies. A symposium is an opportunity to enjoy good conversation and the panelists at HOPE are looking forward to a lively discussion of differing perspectives.
Of all the panels at HOPE, the Wellness panel is intriguing for its commitment to building hope where hope seems unlikely (or even impossible). The therapist and coaches on the panel regularly meet clients who are overcome by difficult truths. The search for a real hope, grounded in truth but not limited to what is true now, is the common thread through all the presentations.
Our panelists will challenge the audience to explore their expectations about the connections between mind and body, and the ways that changing one may influence the other. John Steuernol will demonstrate new ways to explore the mind/body connection. Dr. David Murphy, Kathleen Milligan of Action Hypnosis and Karen Harrington of Prosperity Quotient will take you inside the change process to show why hope is essential to improving well-being. Lorraine Thornhill will talk about how illness opened up new vistas in her life and what that means for the clients she coaches. And Mike Verhey will explore how attention to the way we think can influence the way we feel.
Many of our wellness panelists have backgrounds in either science or business. Their presentations will be anchored by their commitment to grounding hope in hard truths. The Symposium will feature practical suggestions for changework within a context of interesting ideas. Listeners will become curious about how their own thoughts about truth are making a physical impact on the way they lead their lives.
The HOPE Symposium runs Saturday, September 17 from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm in Room 119 at Emmanuel College (St. Charles and Avenue Road, at the Museum subway stop). Registration at the door is $80 (includes HST), and discounts are available for early registrations. Details are available by calling NLP Canada Training at 416-928-2394 or visit the HOPE Symposium website at www.hopesymposium.com.
